The finalisation of products imported into the European market

Company X, which is located in Asia, exports an Electronic Ticketing system (e-ticketing) to Europe. The Container carrying the goods is offloaded from the vessel in Le Havre.
The Company’s objective is to reduce its shipping costs and also to provide the different versions which various European customers demand.

=> The Response from Vialog : Once an agreement was reached between the two parties, it was decided that the terminals would be shipped from China as parts, rather than finished machines. This maximised container usage.
On receipt, Vialog undertook a series of processes with the objective of customising the machines for the local market, adding further modules such as screen, printer and keyboard and completing the assembly.
From the arrival of the components in Le Havre, Vialog took charge of the process of producing casings, painting and assembly – all done within the Dieppe area. Thereafter Vialog undertook the Logistics operation, making deliveries throughout Europe.

Assembly and after-sales service of products exported to Great Britain

Company Y produces PCB’s for incorporation into finished products destined to the UK. Some of the components are supplied by a Dutch company, meaning that they have to be shipped from Holland to be assembled. When damaged or defective goods are found to have been supplied, it becomes necessary to return them to Holland for rectification and return to the UK.
The objective of Company Y is to streamline its Supply Chain, improve the efficiency of the Service Department, reduce transport and eradicate unnecessary delays.

=> The Response from Vialog : It was agreed that all of the components will be delivered to Dieppe and assembly would take place in Dieppe. This reduced transport time and costs. In addition the whole process was far more streamlined.
The products are assembled by local companies in the Dieppe area, transported by ferry to Newhaven and delivered to end-users.
The defective products are processed in Dieppe.
The overall result is greater economy, a reduction in CO˛ emissions and a far quicker delivery time-scale. Thus increased sales for the client company.
